Decent Train Travel with S Hudbou Vesmírnou
Train travel is very practical, comfortable and eco-friendly, but often involves a negative experience associated with dirty wagons and toilets. And this is what became the central topic of the Decent Train Travel campaign we prepared for Slovak Rail.
Cleanliness is one of the decisive criteria when choosing how to travel again, but maintenance is often a tough challenge with 1,500 wagons being deployed daily and with 70 million passengers every year. We would even say it is virtually impossible without considerate customers. So, we decided to call on passengers to start with themselves: “Let our behaviour on the train make the journey pleasant not just for ourselves but also for others.”
We created a list of simple principles to be observed during train travel. Then we communicated them in cooperation with S Hudbou Vesmírnou through a series of short videos. Our ambassadors explained in the videos how to avoid unpleasant situations resulting from negligence or carelessness. That’s why we focused on excessive noise when talking on the phone, increased risk of theft, and maintaining cleanliness even in places where passengers can’t be seen by anyone. It is easy to give the excuse that “IT JUST HAPPENED”, even though any mess is caused by someone, or there is someone whose carelessness contributed to it.
Using the hashtag #slusnevlakom (decent train travel), we showed passengers that they only need to observe simple rules for a journey to be pleasant for all of us, because considerate passengers contribute to decent train travel.
